“Putting an outfit together is all about dressing up and feeling something. It’s escapism.”

Inspired by romance, connection, and the joy of dressing up, Gloria Jane Royer transforms mundane office wear and discarded wedding dresses into elevated, ready-to-wear garments and unique custom pieces. Utilising a combination of careful pattern cutting and a collage-like approach to construction, Gloria’s designs juxtapose practical, tailored fabrics with feminine silhouettes and delicate lace embellishments. The result is a distinctly monochromatic aesthetic that balances structure with softness, sophistication with sentimentality.

Sewing new stories into unwanted materials, Gloria’s garments are made with love and made to last. Together with her small, in-house team, Gloria designs and hand makes everything from her studio in Margate.

As far as possible, the materials used in the design process are repurposed, recycled, or dead stock.

All packaging is recyclable.

Our Story

A self-declared “hopeless romantic,” Gloria has always felt inspired by the connection between people and their clothes. From dressing up in her mother’s heels as a child, to developing her skills at Chelsea College of Art and beyond, the stories we tell with our clothes have always been at the heart of her creative process.

The very act of getting dressed in Gloria’s garments often requires a helping hand from a friend; her laced corsets and gowns demand an intimate, considered approach to dressing that is reminiscent of the performance of dressing up as a child or girls’ nights getting ready together.
Having recently dressed the likes of The Last Dinner Party, BLACKPINK, and Julia Fox, Gloria Jane Royer’s designs are going global. But it’s the creative community around her at home in Margate that inspires her the most.

A Gloria Jane Royer piece is designed to embolden any wearer, whatever their identity.

From one Lovergirl to another,
